Youth players in Football Online are defined as being aged 20 or under.
YOUTH ABILITY POINTS DISTRIBUTION
Youth players are run under an ability point reward system. This means that the more you play your youth players, the more ability points they will be granted at the end of the season. The other factor is whether these minutes are spent in the senior or reserve squads. Spending minutes in the senior squads will increase the player’s yield of ability points as follows:
Age 16 = 3 * amount of senior minutes played
Age 17 = 2.5 * amount of senior minutes played
Age 18 = 2 * amount of senior minutes played
Age 19 = 1.5 * amount of senior minutes played
Age 20 = 1 * amount of senior minutes played
Minutes bonus in reserve team = 60% of total ability points in the senior team
While you may take less of a risk playing your youth players in the reserves, they will not reap in as high a bonus at the end of the season as playing them in the senior squad.
There will be a notification at the end of the season when ability point bonuses are to be distributed. The managers are able to choose how they want the points distributed towards each individual player. However, players must have a minimum of 50% of total ability point bonus distributed towards secondary skills (not their highest skill or skills if they have two identical top stats).
YOUTH ACADEMIES
A club's youth academy is the major piece of club infrastructure that can be upgraded in Football Online.
Youth academies can be developed by clubs in order to expand the club’s youth network and improve the chances of bringing through star players. The effectiveness of a club’s youth academy will be based on the level of scouting and training available. Every club will start with Level 1 scouting and training.
Scouting
Scouting potentially increases the amount of players coming through the ranks at the end of the season. The ‘T’ indicates the training level of your youth academy. A higher level of training decreases the amount of players scouted but there’s a better chance of picking up a good youngster if the training level is high.
Scouting upgrade costs
Level scouting / number of players scouted / Upgrade cost
Level 1 / (5 - T) / € 0
Level 2 / 1 + (5 - T) / € 2,500,000
Level 3 / 2 + (5 - T) / € 5,000,000
Level 4 / 3 + (5 - T) / € 10,000,000
Level 5 / 4 + (5 - T) / € 15,000,000
Please understand that the potential to scout to its fullest extent will be affected by how many youth players are currently on the club's books. The off-season scouting of youth players will never take a club over 22 youth players in total.
Training Levels
Training in the youth academy will show just how good a club’s youth players could potentially be. A simple program will be run in the off-season (except the first season) to determine new youth player skill ratings.
Base primary refers to the main stat with the primary difference referring to the amount of deviation permitted either side of the base primary. The same applies to each secondary stat. The higher the training level will increase chances of not only picking up a quality youngster but also increase the potential for a player to be adept in more than one position.
Training Level / Base Prim / Prim Diff / Base Sec / Sec Diff / Cost
Level 1 / BP 7 / PD 2 / BS 2 / SD 1 / € 0
Level 2 / BP 8 / PD 2 / BS 3 / SD 1 / € 5,000,000
Level 3 / BP 8 / PD 1 / BS 3 / SD 2 / € 10,000,000
Level 4 / BP 9 / PD 1 / BS 4 / SD 2 / € 20,000,000
Level 5 / BP 10 / PD 2 / BS 4 / SD 3 / € 30,000,000
Upgrades to facilities can only be made during the off-season with changes not taking effect until the following off-season. Please also bear in mind that while a club can improve their facilities as much as they want at a time, upgrading at more than one level at a time will still mean that the cost will accumulate. For example, going from training level 1 to 3 will still cost that club € 15,000,000.
