AUSTRALIAN MANAGER CRAIG PRITCHARD has announced his arrival at West Ham United with the task of keeping the Hammers up in their first season.
With many years of managerial experience, Pritchard will need every ounce of it to keep the Hammers in a Premiership that contains the Big Four as well as very competitive teams such as Everton, Aston Villa, Tottenham, Newcastle and Manchester City.
Pritchard will look to Dean Ashton for goals
Pritchard announced his delight to take the reins and hopes to rise to the challenge.
"I think West Ham are the kind of club I will enjoy being part of." Pritchard said in last night's press conference. "It really is a club that likes to play good football and to bring through youngsters. We've got a few promising youngsters on top of a solid first-team. We will need every last ounce of ability and strength to survive in the Premiership this season but its up to everyone to pull together in order to achieve safety this season."
Pritchard's arrival will ensure he links up with Socceroos captain Lucas Neill and hopes the two will be able to forge a good working relationship.
"We both like to work hard and we're both winners which should help forge a strong working relationship between manager and captain." Pritchard said. "We're also both Australian so I think that will help all the more."
